Business Formation and Organization

King County Business Formation Lawyers

Dedicated to maintaining an atmosphere of open communication and teamwork, at Scarff Law Firm, PLLC, we take the time to explain the differences between business organization options such as:

  • C Corporations

  • S Corporations

  • Professional Service Corporations (PS)

  • Limited liability companies (LLC)

  • Professional limited liability companies (PLLC)

  • Limited partnerships (LP)

  • Limited liability partnerships (LLP)

We review the potential tax consequences of your options and recommend a business entity that suits both your current needs and future objectives.

“Our clients know we will take care of them throughout the entire process.”
— Stuart W. Scarff

Some aspects of a private estate can be managed through a business entity such as a limited liability company (LLC). We have more than two decades of experience providing clients with these kinds of creative solutions during the estate planning process.

Registered Agent Services

All companies doing business in Washington must have a registered agent with an in-state address. Your company is responsible for the regular and timely completion of all reports required by the state; otherwise, you may incur delinquency notices, penalties and fees. The registered agent serves as your company’s contact for the Secretary of State, Department of Licensing and other government entities.

We serve as the registered agent for new and existing business entities. In this capacity, our attorneys draft, review and file renewals and reports required by the Secretary of State. Also, most legal matters (i.e. law suits) are served on the company’s registered agent. If Scarff Law Firm, as the registered agent, is served with legal process, we will promptly contact you and/or forward the pleadings to you for your review and further instruction. If you are unavailable, we will ensure that the appropriate action is taken in a timely manner.
